πŸ“ Location: Babubock Village, South-West Region, Cameroon

πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘§β€πŸ‘¦ Beneficiaries: 200+ primary school children

Background

Government Primary School Babubock is the only functioning primary school in the village. For years, it has provided a pathway to education for children from several quarters. However, the building β€” constructed decades ago β€” has never been renovated.

Before the Anglophone crisis, the infrastructure was already in poor condition. Since 2017, the conflict has worsened the situation, with gunfire damaging the walls, military raids destroying parts of the building, and lack of maintenance leaving the classrooms unsafe.

Current Situation

As our photos and videos show, the school is in a deplorable state:

Children cannot learn in these conditions. Without urgent renovation, the school risks total collapse, forcing children to walk long distances through insecure areas to attend classes elsewhere.

Our Response

In collaboration with Nature Cameroon (lead implementing partner, 21 years’ experience) and Impact Circle for Nature (IC4N) (co-implementer), we are working to:

Community Contribution

The renovation will be closely supervised by the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA), school administration, and community elites. Villagers will contribute by providing local materials (sand, stones, water) and volunteer labor.
